In March 2012, the Association of Italian Canadian Writers (AICW), in partnership with Guernica Editions and Accenti Magazine, will be launching two books on the internment of Italian Canadians during the Second World War. The books – one academic, and one creative – will bring together essays, stories and creative writings on the subject of the internment. These collections will offer a comprehensive and thought-provoking look at the events of 1940. The books will be published in print and electronic format, with launches scheduled in cities across Canada. The books will be distributed free of charge to libraries, academic institutions, community organizations and individuals. The academic book is a co-publication with the Columbus Centre of Toronto.
